“Erick just wanted an easier fight in Bellator,” said Larkin in an interview with the North American website MMAjunkie.
The fighter stated that he heard from his manager that Silva had multiple cracks in his rib cartilage, which is contrary to Erick's post. In the post, the Brazilian stated that a single crack in his left rib was to blame for his injury.
“I had cracked rib cartilage, but not multiple ones. I don't see how this is possible. One cartilage crack is bad enough, but multiple, unless you picked it up on the street – that just doesn't make sense to me,” Lorenz said.
With the Brazilian's departure from the card, Ion Pascu was scheduled to face Larkin at Bellator 207 this Friday (12).
After leaving the UFC, Lorenz Larkin faced Douglas lima in his debut at Bellator 180. The American was defeated by unanimous decision by the Brazilian. In his second appearance in the organization, the fighter was knocked out by Paul Daley at Bellator 183. His first victory came at Bellator 193, when he defeated Fernando Gonzalez by unanimous decision.
