Cigano opens up to fans: “Chael Sonnen is weak”

Anyone who thinks that the second edition of UFC Rio will only take place this Saturday (14) is mistaken. Throughout the week leading up to the fight program, the city of Rio de Janeiro hosts a series of activities to bring fans and fighters closer together.

This Friday, before the official weigh-in for UFC Rio 2, heavyweight junior gypsy participated in a question and answer session open to fans. During the chat, which was led by UFC reporter Paula Sack, the fighter did not shy away from any questions and in a very relaxed way answered all the fans.

Check out the summary of the Q&A session below:

PUBLICITY:

Fight against Overeem:
Gypsy:
He is a giant. But we are two knockout artists. It'll be cool for you. Someone's going to get knocked out, and I don't think it's going to be me.

Fight against Cain Velazquez:
Gypsy:
I didn't expect the fight to be as quick as it was. But I still think Velasquez is now the second best in the category. I think he'll fight one or two fights at most and then we'll fight again. He's a fighter who has a lot of energy, he looks like a lightweight, he never gets tired.

At the end of the session, Cigano left the defensive and went on the attack. When asked by a fan about Chael Sonnen, who spares no criticism of Brazilian athletes and the country, the heavyweight champion stated that the North American is weak.

Controversial statements by Chael Sonnen:
Gypsy:
I don't even like talking about this guy. Sonnen uses the method that is for the weak. He couldn't get there, he took a triangle to Anderson's head and kept saying those things.

PUBLICITY:

Anderson Silva e Chael Sonnen fuel the biggest rivalry in MMA today. In the first fight between them, held at UFC 117, in August 2010, the North American dominated the fight for 23 minutes, but ended up submitting with a triangle choke, with just over a minute left to end the duel.
