Known for his speed and knockout power inside the octagon, Conor McGregor never hid his fame convivial outside the UFC. However, about to face the Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov, in one of the most important duels of his career, the rival did not lack criticism of the Irishman. The current lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg.) even called the 'Notório' drunk and a drug user.

“At the press conference, he looked like a drunk guy,” said Nurmagomedov, in an interview with ESPN in the USA. “How do you want to fight after using a lot of drugs and drinking whiskey? How do you want to fight 25 minutes? This ain't boxing, brother. I will be close all the time. It won't be a fight with distance, like with Nate diaz. It will be completely different”, added the Russian.
At the press conference to promote the dispute, held on the 20th, the Irishman took to the stage with a bottle of his whiskey brand, 'Proper No. 12'. The distillate will even be one of the show’s sponsors. But, on the other hand, there is no public report that Conor is a drug user.
Rivalry on the surface
The rivalry between McGregor and Khabib increases every day. Still at the press conference to promote the confrontation, the Irishman was asked about the incident between them in March. On that occasion, Conor, accompanied by 10 other friends, invaded the parking lot before UFC 223's media day to fight with Nurmagomedov. Without mincing words, he warned: “I just thank the Lord Jesus Christ that this guy (Khabib) didn't have the courage to step off the bus to face me. Because he would be dead and we wouldn’t be selling pay-per-view now.”
Now, Khabib promises to take revenge for what happened and says he will teach McGregor to be humble. “I will teach him to be humble, teach him about fighting, sometimes beat him and make him tired. I'll ask him, 'Where's your bus now? Where are your friends? What happened? Where is everything? Bring everyone here.' We will see. We will see. This fight is going to be interesting,” he added.
