The sexual abuse scandal among athletes in the USA also reached MMA. After Larry Nassar, a former doctor for the country's gymnastics team, was sentenced to 175 years in prison, now the shame is also among men. Former UFC heavyweight champion Mark Coleman, along with more than 100 former Ohio State University students, accuse former wrestling team doctor Richard H. Strauss of the same crime.
The 54-year-old former fighter revealed that he was one of the victims of the late doctor during the time he competed for the university. Coleman assured that he is willing to cooperate with investigations into the case.

In a long statement sent to the AP news agency, Coleman reaffirms the former doctor's guilt, but did not accuse federal deputy Jim Jordan, a former technical assistant during the period of Strauss' reported abuse. However, in a statement to the 'Wall Street Journal', the fighter stated that the current parliamentarian knew about the case 'unless he has dementia or something that has erased his memory of what happened'.

Before becoming UFC champion in 1997, Coleman had a successful wrestling career. The 'Hammer', as he became known, attended Ohio State in his final year of college in 1986 and was a national champion. Afterwards he was runner-up in the freestyle world championship. He also competed in the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 representing the USA. His MMA debut took place at UFC 10, in 1996. In his career, Mark has important triumphs over names such as: Don Frye, Dan Severn and Mauricio Shogun.
