It takes place this Wednesday, November 30th, in the city of Las Vegas, the 2011 World MMA Awards, the Oscar of world MMA. The event aims to reward the best in sport in various categories.
There will be ten Brazilians competing in 22 categories. The event promises controversial situations, as one of the competitors will be Anderson Silva (who is competing for the Fighter of the Year and Knockout of the Year awards) and the presenter, his biggest enemy, Chael Sonnen.
The other Brazilians in the race are José Aldo, Rodrigo Minotauro, Lyoto Machida, Vitor belfort, Patricky Pitbull, Vinny Pezão, as well as referee Mario Yamasaki and coaches Rafael Cordeiro and Cesar Gracie.
The 2010 edition awarded Brazilians José Aldo (fighter of the year), Anderson Silva (for the best fight of the year, against Chael Sonnen), Mauritius Shogun (knockout on Lyoto Machida), Fabricio Werdum (submission about Fedor Emelianenko), Cristiane Cyborg (fighter of the year) and the Wand Fight Team academy of Wanderlei Silva
