At UFC Belém in February, Michel Trator failed to reach the lightweight weight of 70,8 kg. The Brazilian was 2,2 kg heavier, so Ultimate forced Trator to move up to the welterweight category. The Brazilian faces Zak Cummings at UFC Chile, on Saturday (19), in Santiago.

In an interview with the Tatame website, Michel reported the difficulty in losing weight at his UFC camp in the capital of Pará. After the setback, the Brazilian wants to return to the lightweight division. “I didn’t have much difficulty, no (to stay at welterweight). But I want to return to the lightweight division and I will be able to return. In the last fight, a few things happened, I only had three days to cut weight, I lost my brother, now, this time, I focused a lot. I’m very motivated to come back,” he explained.
Trator spoke about his opponent: “He's a very good guy at striking, he's already fought at middleweight and light heavyweight. (About his wingspan) has advantages in the fight for both him and me. I'm a very fast guy, I have good boxing, I move sideways a lot, I'll try to wear him down and impose my game throughout the fight, that's the objective”, he concluded.
Michel Trator, 36 years old, has a record of 26 fights, with 24 wins and two losses. His last fight was the decision victory over the American Desmond Green.
