Dana White on Cigano x Velasquez: “It will be the most important fight in UFC history”

UFC president Dana White is euphoric about the clash between the Brazilian junior gypsy and the North American Cain Velazquez, valid for the organization's heavyweight belt. The fight, which will take place next Saturday (12), according to the director, will begin a new era of MMA, as it will be shown on an open channel in Brazil, on Rede Globo, and in the United States, on Fox.

“It will be the most important fight in the history of the UFC”, said Dana, which he defined as “the UFC’s big step towards the general public”, said the president.

“There is no other fight I would like to put on open television. If all my fighters were healthy and available to me, I would still choose Cigano and Velasquez,” he added.

Despite the president's praise, Cigano and Velasquez do not feel pressured by the fight and guarantee that they are calm for the confrontation. “I'm feeling the same pressure I felt in my last fight. It’s a great chance for me, I want it and I will enjoy every moment”, declared Cigano. “It’s just another fight week, like any other,” Velasquez agreed.
