For MMA lovers, the best thing this Saturday night (21st) will be to watch UFC Fight Night Atlantic City, in New Jersey. The show will have as its main attraction the fight between the Brazilian Edson Barboza and the North American Kevin Lee. With show time approaching, bookmakers are already starting to move and, according to the Oddsshark.com, the Brazilian is the underdog in the odds.

Edson Barboza x Kevin Lee

Numbers four and seven, respectively, on the list of lightweight division challengers, Edson Barboza e Kevin Lee fight on Saturday targeting the Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov, who won the belt on the 07th, by beating To the fifth at the controversial UFC 123, in New York.

PUBLICITY:

Barboza is coming off a setback against Nurmagomedov himself, on the last day of 2017. The Russian put an end to a good streak of victories for the Brazilian over Anthony Pettis, Gilbert Melendez and Beneil Dariush. The dream of being champion, however, remains unshaken.

“The way is to get back to winning ways. We will only get a chance at the belt when we get some victories. This next fight is the first step, the dream continues and I will continue working very hard to achieve this goal.”, he declared to the press.

PUBLICITY:

On the other side, the loudmouth Kevin Lee exudes confidence that he will be the winner, even though he was finished by Tony Ferguson in his last fight, at UFC 216, in Las Vegas. The North American had gotten the better of four previous fights, including the one at UFC Fight Night Fortaleza, in which he submitted the Brazilian Francisco “massaranduba” Trinaldo.

In interviews to promote the fight against Barboza, Lee made no secret of the fact that his mind is on what comes next:

PUBLICITY:

“I will face the best version of Edson Barboza, better than the one he fought with Khabib. I'm going to give an even bigger beating than the one Khabib gave that kid, then we can have a fight.”, he challenged.

The North American, in fact, is the favorite to win the fight, but by a small margin. According to Oddsshark.com, the return for a Lee win will be R$1,69/R$1,00, while a possible Barboza triumph will pay R$2,15 for each real bet.

Frankie Edgar x Cub Swanson

Sharing the main role of the event, the fight between Frankie Edgar e Cub swanson It will be an interesting fight between two fighters who are in the crosshairs for the featherweight title fight, but are coming off recent defeats to the same opponent: Brian ortega.

PUBLICITY:

Edgar was rehearsing a recovery after the setback against José Aldo in the fight for the interim belt at UFC 200, and won the next two fights, against Jeremy Stephens e Yair Rodriguez. However, he took a step back when he was knocked out forcefully by Brian ortega at UFC 222, and returns to the octagon after just over a month to prove that he is still among the best in the division. Currently, he appears in third place in the ranking.

Swanson, in turn, was undefeated in four fights until meeting Ortega along the way at UFC Fight Night in Fresno, in December last year. If he had won, the American would inevitably have been nominated for the title fight, which at the moment is still up for grabs. Max Holloway. Fourth in the rankings, he seeks victory thinking about receiving another opportunity to try for the title.

The only time they were face to face, in November 2014, Edgar won by submission in a fight that lasted five rounds. According to Oddsshark.com, he is favorite to win again, with the victory priced at R$1,43/R$1,00. If Swanson has a better fate this time, the return will be 180%.

Other Brazilians at UFC Altantic City

Brazilian participation in UFC Fight Night Atlantic City will not be restricted to Edson Barboza. Also on the main card, the middleweight Thiago Marreta faces North American David Branch. Marreta is going through a more favorable moment, with victories in his last four fights, including a knockout over Anthony Smith, in February. Branch is looking to bounce back after being defeated in two of his three most recent engagements.

The Brazilian is the most likely to win, with a return of R$1,47 per real bet. If Branch wins, the bettor will make a 170% profit.

On the preliminary card, welterweight Luan Chagas faces Afghan Siyar Bahadurzada in a fight with no favorites. Both are coming off victories, the Brazilian against Jim Wallhead, and the Afghan against Rob Wilkinson.

According to Oddsshark.com, the return will be strictly the same for a win on either side, R$1,87 per real bet.
