Michael chandler won his second consecutive victory, last Friday (13), in Bellator's circular cage. The triumph against Brandon Girtz marked the end of his contract with the event. In search of a better deal, the fighter took advantage of the opportunity and speculated about a possible fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov, the current UFC champion.

Confident, Chandler said he doesn't think about the contract for the events, but for the guys he can face. The American guarantees he has the perfect style to stop Khabib, who has 26 wins in 26 fights. According to him, the failures presented by the Russian in the fight against To the fifth at UFC 223, on the 07th, they would be taken advantage of for their virtues within the fight.

“I don't think about events, I think about the guys I can face. How would you face Khabib? I do exactly what To the fifth did, except with my takedowns, my punches and my takedown defense,” he said.

“How would I defend the takedowns, close the distance and get my hands on him? As Michael Johnson he did? I think this picture has been painted a few times. I think I beat him ten times out of ten”, added the confident fighter.

Despite speculating a possible deal with the UFC, Chandler said his priority is to renew with Bellator.

“I have no intention of leaving Bellator. We'll see what happens, but I don't believe there's any interest in going anywhere other than Bellator or UFC. Obviously, I'm very happy where I am. But not a day goes by without me thinking about my career progress.”
