Without fighting since leaving the UFC in February 2015, middleweight Rodrigo Monstro is back in MMA. His return to the cage will be against the pack John allan in the main fight of the 8th edition of Imortal FC, scheduled for April 7th at the Max Rosenmann gym, in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná.

“I had been training for a while, I was helping with the team's athletes' camps and I decided together with my coach Frankiko Lima that 2018 is the turning point in my career, and it starts now at Imortal”, said the 27-year-old fighter , who also spoke about his time in the UFC. “I was very young, I didn't have the maturity to establish myself in the biggest MMA event on the planet. Today I am a completely different athlete. About a second chance, it’s a path I’m taking day by day.”

Two years younger than “Monstro”, the knockout artist from Curitiba John allan comes from three consecutive victories and also wants his chance in Ultimate. Proud to represent the legendary Chute Boxe team, he wants to follow the path of great idols who conquered the world carrying the flag of the team founded by Rudimar Fedrigo.

“Chute Boxe will always be one of the biggest teams in the world. Legends like Shogun, Wanderlei Silva, Murilo Ninja and Pelé Landi came from here. It is a huge responsibility to fight representing this flag”, he exalts. “I come from three victories over tough guys and I know that a victory over a former UFC fighter can qualify me to greater heights. And like every MMA athlete, my goal is to reach the UFC.”

Immortal Grappling 2 brings UFC fighter

In addition to the MMA disputes, the Imortal card features a grappling competition in the fight program. The Imortal Grappling Challenge, a submission challenge according to the Metamoris rules, without points, advantages or judges' decisions, forcing fighters to incessantly seek the submission.

The highlight of this second edition is the newly hired UFC Jennifer maia. A Jiu-Jitsu black belt, she faces Marta “Gladiadora” in the main fight of the challenge, which, like in the previous edition, precedes the Imortal FC card.
