The heavyweight belt will be up for grabs in early 2018! The champion Stipe Miocic defends his reign against the Cameroonian Francis Ngannou at UFC 220, an event that takes place on January 20th, in Boston (USA). The news was released, in the early hours of this Thursday (07), by the North American website MMA Junkie and should be made official by the organization in the next few hours.

Miocic, who has a professional record of 17 wins and two losses, will make his third title defense in the franchise. If Ngannou wins, the American of descent will become the heavyweight with the most title defenses in UFC history. Before, he defeated alistair overeem and the Brazilian junior gypsy, both by knockout.
On the other hand, Ngannou is the new heavyweight sensation. The 31-year-old Cameroonian has a record of 11 wins and just one defeat. The 'Predator', as he is known, comes from 10 triumphs in a row. In Ultimate, he scored victories over Luis Henrique KLB, Curtis blaydes, Bojan Mihajlovic, Anthony Hamilton, Andrei Arlovski e alistair overeem, at UFC 218, which took place last Saturday.
Two title fights at UFC 220
In addition to Miocic x Ngannou, UFC 220 will feature another title fight. In the second most important duel of the night, Daniel Cormier defends light heavyweight title against Swiss Volkan oezdemir.
So far, Brazil will have three representatives on the card: Thominhas Almeida face Rob font, Gleison Tibau measures forces against Islam makhachev and Francimar Bodão faces Gian Villante.
