the return of Lyoto Machida Returning to the Octagon after two years away ended in a nightmare for the Brazilian. Despite a promising start, the middleweight ended up taking a serious blow from Derek Brunson, who knocked him out in the first round of the main fight of the UFC Sao Paulo. The defeat was the third in a row for the Brazilian, former light heavyweight world champion.
Brunson started the fight more patient than usual, waiting for the right time to explode. Despite this, the North American was forced to absorb an excellent counterattack from Lyoto, who showed excellent reflexes, especially after two years away. However, when the Brazilian let his guard down, Brunson landed a big blow that took him to the canvas.
