Outraged by the decision of the side judges in the main fight of UFC 215, Valentina Shevchenko asked for a new rematch with Amanda nunes immediately after the second fight between the two, won again by the Brazilian. However, the bantamweight champion rejected the notion that her rival deserves another chance soon after the two face each other again.

At the press conference after the event, the Lioness justified her rejection by saying that she dominated the duel with Valentina, despite one of the judges giving the victory to the Peruvian born in Kyrgyzstan.
“I dominated the fight. She counterattacked, but it wasn't something that connected well, she didn't leave me like that... She connected, but I dominated, I connected some, especially my kicks. I dominated the five rounds and then got the takedowns. She tried to do a takedown and I got on her back. I was smart today. I saved a lot of energy and let her do all the work. That was the strategy, make her make mistakes, let her do all the work and wait for the best moment to turn the rounds”, declared Amanda, who revealed that she trained precisely to do the five rounds against Valentina, dispelling the notion that she has no physical preparation for long fights.
“That's why I tried the takedowns at the end, as well as using my punches and kicks to make her move constantly and get tired. I wasn't able to do everything I planned, because I injured my foot and I still tried to knock her out, but my goal was to fight five rounds”, pointed out the Brazilian.
