After Melendez, Stephens asks for a duel with Aldo for 'December or January'

Jeremy Stephens He scored one of the most important victories of his career at UFC 215 last Saturday (9) and is already thinking about bigger things. After detonating the leg of former Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez, the American aims for a duel with José Aldo. The reason is that Stephens postponed his wedding to face Melendez and doesn't think his fiancée would accept another cancellation, even if it's for a fight against the former featherweight champion.

“I would love this fight, but November would be a little tight on my schedule. I don't think my fiancée would like another postponement (laughs). So December or January, something like that. That would be something I would definitely be up for. He's explosive, a great fighter. I think he and I could give the fans a great performance. But I just can't do that in November”, commented Stephens, remembering that Aldo asked to fight in November.

“I know he has been campaigning to fight in New York, he wants to fight in November, but if he waits a little we can put on a great show”, pointed out the American.
