The Brazilian Anderson Silva appears to have recovered from the blow of not being able to fight at home at UFC 212 and is ready to return to the octagon. And, if it depends on the former UFC middleweight champion, the opponent is an old acquaintance of his: Nick Diaz. Through his social networks, the “Spider” challenged the North American to a rematch.

Knowing that his former opponent is controversial, Anderson assured that he had respect for Nick and his brother, Nate, and said that the first duel between the two was one of the best fights in the history of the sport.
“I believe this was one of the best fights in the history of this sport. With all due respect Nick. Let's show you how it's done. I await your response, maximum respect to the Diaz family”, declared Anderson, posting a video of the first meeting between the two on his official Instagram.
Anderson Silva comes from victory over Derek Brunson at UFC 208 in February. The Brazilian would fight in Rio de Janeiro in June, but his opponent, Kelvin Gastelum, was caught with marijuana during a drug test and was suspended for three months. Ultimate tried to keep “Spider” at the event, but Silva said he would only fight for the interim title and the two parties could not reach an agreement.
