Retired from MMA since 2010, Chuck Liddell, at 47 years old, can once again rewrite his trajectory in the sport. According to John Hackleman, trainer of the former UFC champion, a return to the Octagon for the 'Iceman' is not ruled out, and it all depends on any offers the veteran receives.

“Just like the first time they wanted him to stop and he wanted to keep fighting, everyone thought I was encouraging him to fight, which is not true. But like I always said, it's whatever's in his heart. Three million dollars? Who will say to someone, 'No, I won't let you earn 3 million dollars, which is something most people don't earn in three lifetimes”, declared the coach, during an interview with the 'Anik and Florian' podcast.
Although he recognizes that the financial aspect can influence Liddell's return, Hackleman emphasizes that health must be put first and, therefore, caution is needed when making decisions.
“But even for 3 million, I don't think it's enough to put your life and legacy at risk. Your legacy, not only for your self-confidence but for your financial gains, may be worth much more than that amount and ruining it to such an extent may not be worth it. So everything would depend on the opponent”, concluded the coach.
Chuck Liddell hasn't fought since June 2010, when he was knocked out by Rich Franklin at UFC 115. He was the UFC light heavyweight champion from 2005 to 2007, having defended his belt four times. In total, Liddell had 21 wins and eight defeats on his record, highlighting triumphs against names like Murilo Bustamante, Vitor belfort, alistair overeem, Randy Couture (twice) and Wanderlei Silva.
