The rivalry between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather gained a new chapter this Thursday (13). John Kavanagh, the Irishman's main trainer, launched attacks against the boxer, calling him a scoundrel and citing accusations of domestic violence that the American suffered in the past.

“I think Floyd Mayweather is a real scoundrel. He hits his girlfriends. I watched “The Dog House” (videos from Mayweather’s boxing gym). He strikes me as an intimidating type character. He makes the guys fight each other in endless rounds until one is seriously injured. He’s not a good individual,” declared John, during a Q&A session with fans in Australia.

Although the official announcement has not yet been made, the duel between the multi-time boxing champion and the owner of two UFC belts could happen in September this year. With that, despite the accusations, Kavanagh praised Mayweather's skills as a boxer, but again poked fun at 'Money's' personal life.

“I'm a fan of his abilities, but as a human being, the way he controls his gym, the way he cares about himself – I mean, it's kind of a duel of styles, so we'll see what happens.” , said the coach, who completed by praising his pupil.

“McGregor is already a legend in Irish folklore at this stage. But do this? What can I do other than tip my hat to him, who is embracing this challenge? He wants to fight one of the best boxers of all time,” he concluded.
