the irish Conor McGregor denied the date proposed by Floyd Mayweather for the two to face each other in boxing. The former champion of the noble art had suggested that the superfight take place in June, with the T-Mobile Arena even reserving a date to host the event. However, the UFC champion, who is expecting a child with his girlfriend Dee Devlin, wants to enjoy the baby before returning to training. The Notorious's firstborn is due in May.

However, the Irishman gave a possible new date for the superfight: September. According to him, negotiations are already underway for the event to take place this month. When talking about it, however, McGregor did not fail to provoke Mayweather.

“September is what I’m thinking. That's the talk at the moment. That's what we're close to doing. I tried to talk to Floyd. I flew to Las Vegas to talk to Floyd, and then he retired. He doesn't want to see me. He is petrified. Wouldn't you be? Nobody knows what to expect with me, and they shouldn't, because I don't know what to expect either!”, he commented to the North American newspaper “LA Times”.

McGregor was in New York last Friday, where he watched compatriot Michael Conlan's victory over Tim Ibarra. When questioned by journalists about the fight with Mayweather, the UFC champion promised to knock out the North American and “shock the world”.
