The Cuban Yoel romero was the biggest loser with the return of Georges St Pierre to the UFC. The former Canadian champion decided to return to fight for the middleweight title and ended up “skipping the line” of the “Soldier of God”, who had guaranteed his chance for the belt with a knockout victory over Chris Weidman at the historic UFC 205 in November last year. Romero assured, however, that he will not accept any other fight and that he intends to wait for the winner between GSP and the current middleweight champion, Michael Bisping, whose duel does not yet have a date set.

“My fight with Bisping will definitely happen. Even if Bisping loses to GSP, I will beat St. Pierre and offer Bisping a fight because we have unfinished business. I would love a fight with GSP, because I know with our styles it would be a good test for both of us. I feel like I can neutralize his strengths, and then he would have to play in my world. And that will make anyone feel uncomfortable”, commented Romero, in an interview with the North American website FloCombat.

Despite speaking of GSP in a complimentary tone, the Cuban admitted that he would have liked to have been chosen to face Bisping and said that the middleweight champion is running away from him, something that Romero himself understands.

“It should be me now. Of course I'll wait, because I should be champion now. Bisping was in the right place at the right time. I understand why people fear me, and they are right to do so. My repertoire cannot be ignored,” he concluded.
