Former challenger for the category belt, Cejudo, 30 years old, is coming off a split decision defeat to Joseph Benavidez, in December 2016. Before, he had been knocked out by Demetrious Johnson at UFC 197, last April, when he challenged for the flyweight title. In Ultimate since the end of 2014, the Olympic judoka has four victories and two setbacks in the franchise.
Pettis, in turn, is coming off three consecutive victories, the last of which was over John Moraga, in January of this year. At just 23 years old, he debuted with the organization almost four years ago. Since then, he has accumulated six positive results and two negative results. He is the younger brother of Anthony Pettis, former UFC lightweight champion.
211 will feature two title fights. For the heavyweight division, Junior Gypsy rematch the champion Stipe Miocic, while Jéssica “Bate-Estaca” faces the Polish Joanna Jedrzejczyk, in a duel valid for the strawweight belt. Two more Brazilians are scheduled for the card: welterweight Demian Maia, which faces Jorge masvidal, and Fabricio Werdum, who is waiting for a new opponent after Ben Rothwell, his original opponent, was caught in an anti-doping test.
