The New York Athletic Commission denied the review request made by Holly Holm and her team, who filed an appeal for the annulment of the defeat suffered by Germain de Randamie at UFC 208, held on February 11, in Brooklyn (USA), in a duel valid for the inaugural women's featherweight belt.

The intention, according to the fighter's lawyers, was for the body responsible for regulating the fight to review the errors made by referee Todd Anderson, who allowed the Dutchwoman to fire two blows after the end of two rounds, and thus remove one or more points. from Holly's opponent. The Commission, however, issued a statement denying the American's request.

“After reviewing video of the match, the New York State Athletic Commission determined that there was no clear error or violation of statute or rule by referee Todd Anderson. Therefore, the score and result of the fight will not be modified”, said the commission in a statement sent to the 'MMA Fighting' (USA) website.

Now, the expectation is that the UFC will announce in the coming weeks what champion De Randamie's next challenge will be: a rematch against Holm or the long-awaited duel against the Brazilian Chris Cyborg, which was recently cleared by USADA and is ready to fight.
