Now it's official. Holly holm and his team filed an appeal with the New York State Athletic Commission for the annulment of the defeat suffered by Germain de Randamie at UFC 208, held last Saturday (11), in Brooklyn (USA), in a duel valid for the inaugural women's featherweight belt.

According to Paul Bardacke and Breanna Houghton, the fighter's lawyers, the intention is for the body responsible for regulating the fight to review the errors made by referee Todd Anderson, who allowed the Dutchwoman to fire two blows after the end of two rounds, and remove one or more points from Holly's opponent.

“We respectfully request that the committee review referee Anderson's failures and make a decision regarding the point deduction after the second blow in the 2nd round and the failure to assess a foul and a point deduction after the 3rd round, ending an appropriate outcome,” reads the statement from Holm’s lawyers.

After the duel, Holm herself had already expressed her irritation with the punches after De Randamie's bell, saying that she had lost respect for the Dutchwoman, who defended herself in a post on her social networks, offering an immediate rematch to the North American.
