The Brazilian, who was caught in a surprise test, proved that the substance spironolactone, found in her exam, was part of a medicine prescribed by the doctor to treat an endocrine disorder. As a result, USADA, the United States anti-doping control body, granted the retroactive exemption and the fighter is free to compete again.

Cyborg celebrates
As soon as USADA issued the note granting the retroactive exemption, due to the Brazilian's medical problems, Cyborg celebrated the decision through a long post on her social networks
“I am extremely pleased that USADA took the time to carefully review the detailed application for TUE that I submitted, and agreed that my use of the prescription was always medically justified.
