The soap opera was long, but now it's official: Georges St Pierre is back in the UFC. After negotiating a new contract with the organization since mid-2016, the former welterweight champion finally reached an agreement with Ultimate. To celebrate his return, the Canadian posted a video on his social networks showing that he is in shape and making his return to the company official.
“It’s official: I’m back!”, says the fighter at the end of the video.

Last week, Dana White, president of Ultimate, also commented on the Canadian's return. According to the boss, GSP still has no date or opponent set for his return, but he left open the possibility of the fighter acting in three categories.
“(His opponent) could be the winner between Tyron woodley and Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, or it could be the Michael Bisping. Georges also talked about fighting at lightweight. He said he can make weight. But I have no idea who he's going to face now. We don’t have anything scheduled and we literally haven’t spoken to anyone about it”, declared the director, in an interview with the North American newspaper “LA Times”.
St. Pierre hasn't fought since November 2013, when he crashed John hendricks and shortly thereafter announced his indefinite retirement from MMA. In total, he has a professional record of 25 wins and two losses. In the UFC, he has 20 triumphs and two setbacks, with nine title defenses in the welterweight category.
