The Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare, initially scheduled to face Luke Rockhold in November, he was irritated by his rival's stance. Rockhold canceled the fight between the two, citing injury. According to the middleweight, however, the former champion is not injured, but rather afraid of facing him.

“Rockhold is scared. He said he's hurt, but I see him training all the time on social media, and then he said he wanted to face the Jon Jones in a grappling match in January. It makes no sense. He's not hurt. If he were, he wouldn't be able to grab the Jon Jones. That’s impossible”, commented Jacaré, to the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

Without Rockhold, the Brazilian ended up agreeing to face Tim Boetsch, who is well behind him in the middleweight rankings – Jacaré is third, and Boetsch 14th. But the former Strikeforce champion guarantees that the American is a dangerous challenge.

“This guy is a problem, Tim Boetsch is a problem. He has a heavy hand and can complicate anyone, but I'm going to stay focused on putting on a great fight and winning. His knockout power is incredible. He is very dangerous. If you blink, you might wake up later wondering what happened,” he explained.

Jacaré and Boetsch will face each other at UFC 208, on February 11. The main fight of the event will feature the first female featherweight fight in the history of Ultimate. Holly holm, former bantamweight champion, and Germaine DeRandamie face each other for the inaugural title of the new division.
