Luke Rockhold is not the only one interested in facing Jon Jones in grappling. Former UFC heavyweight champion, Frank mir also admitted that he would like to test himself against “Bones”. The two are personal friends and train together at Jackson's gym, but that wouldn't stop Mir from trying to fight his partner in the sport.

“Of course I would face Jon. We're friends and stuff, but competing against him would be a lot of fun. And I agree with what he thinks. It’s not possible for an MMA fighter to enter into a direct grappling duel against world-class guys, like Buchecha or Vinny Magalhães”, commented Mir to the North American website “FloCombat”.

Jon Jones should return to a grappling match at the end of January.

Despite having no history in grappling, Mir has a black belt in jiu-jitsu and has submitted names like Rodrigo Minotauro, Cheick Kongo, Roberto Traven and Tim Sylvia.
