Considered one of the best MMA fighters of all time, Fedor Emelianenko may be close to defining his next steps inside the octagon. According to the North American website “FloCombat”, Bellator is planning a clash between Fedor and Matt Mitrione, a former UFC heavyweight, for the beginning of 2017.
At 40 years old, the Russian does not have a signed contract with any organization and has not fought since June this year, when he faced the Brazilian Fabio Maldonado in a fight full of twists and turns and marked by the controversial judgment of the referees. Initially noted as Fedor's victory, the fight had the result changed to a draw by the World MMA Association (WMMAA).
Mitrione, in turn, moved to Bellator last June and has already recorded two victories in the new company, both by knockout. Interestingly, before debuting in Bellator, Matt had only fought in the UFC in his entire career, having recorded nine wins and five losses, including triumphs over Gabriel “Napão” and Derrick Lewis.
