UFC 205, an event that will mark the debut of MMA in New York, on November 12th, at Madison Square Garden, will definitely be marked in the history of the sport. According to Dana White, president of the organization, Ultimate has already broken the gym's historic revenue record, which belonged to the boxing duel between Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis, held in 1999. At the time, the fight between the boxers raised US$ 13,5 million with an audience of 21 thousand spectators. Dana, however, has not revealed the amounts raised so far.

“This is the biggest and best card we’ve ever done in UFC history. We've been to the biggest arenas on the planet, but Madison Square Garden is the top. This place has had legendary fights, historic events, and we broke the fundraising record. I couldn’t be more excited”, declared the manager in an interview with “Fox Sports” (USA).

Without hiding his excitement about the event, White highlighted the three belt fights that will take place and the fact that the card features several “renowned” fighters, who, according to the president himself, would be protagonists in other opportunities.

“It's our first trip to Madison Square Garden, and I wanted to make sure we made history. Being here is a great achievement. We will have three incredible title fights (Eddie Alvarez x Conor McGregor for the lightweight, Tyron woodley x Stephen Thompson for the welterweight and Joanna Jedrzejczyk x Karolina Kowalkiewicz at strawweight), in addition to the rest of the card being spectacular. Some fights on the preliminary card of this event would be unquestionable main events at any event”, he concluded.
