Former UFC lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos has an unresolved rivalry against Conor McGregor. Even so, the Brazilian guarantees that his main objective is not to clean up the feud with the Irishman, but rather to regain the title of the Ultimate division under 70 kg.

Dos Anjos would face McGregor in March, in a fight that would mark a duel of champions in the Octagon. However, shortly before, the Brazilian suffered an injury and was removed from the fight, replaced by Nate diaz. After that, the two fighters took opposite paths: McGregor and Diaz had an intense rivalry, involving two fights, and Rafael lost the belt to Eddie Alvarez in July.
In an interview with the North American website “Yahoo Sports”, the Brazilian insisted that he was not sad about having lost money for leaving the duel with McGregor. His feeling revolves around the category belt: “I wasn't disappointed just because of the salary. I was disappointed because I didn't fight because I was injured. That was the first time that happened in my career. Fighting McGregor is not my goal, my goal is to get my belt back. If he wins the title and doesn’t hide like he does at featherweight, I’ll be ready to win it back,” he explained.
Dos Anjos returns to the octagon on November 5th, when he catches Tony Ferguson in Mexico City. A week later, McGregor duels with Alvarez in New York (USA) for the lightweight belt. The results of the fights could put Dos Anjos and McGregor on a collision course again.
