McGregor and Diaz could be punished for fight at press conference

The committee responsible for the event claims that their conduct “is not in line with professional conduct”; trial date has not yet been set

The soap opera involving the names of Conor McGregor e Nate diaz it seems to have no end. Almost a month after the two fighters starred in a widespread fight during a press conference to promote UFC 202, an event that took place last August (20), the NAC (Nevada Athletic Commission), responsible for the show, announced that it may punish those involved in the episode.

“It was totally unacceptable! It doesn't match the professional way fighters should behave. He showed disrespect to the press, the fighters, the UFC and the Commission”, said the organization’s executive director Bob Bennett to the “MMA Fighting” website (USA).

According to Bennett, the NAC has already filed a complaint against the two athletes, alleging that the two UFC 202 stars are guilty of conduct detrimental to the event. It was not clear when the meeting for the trial of Conor and Diaz will take place, but the body has a meeting scheduled for September 29th, in Las Vegas, United States, with no agenda announced.

McGregor and Nate diaz They faced each other for the second time in the main fight of UFC 202, held last August, and the Irishman defeated Diaz by majority decision by the judges. At the time, “The Notorious” received the biggest salary in UFC history, around US$3 million (R$9,6 million at the time), while Diaz took home the sum of US$2 million (R$ $6,4 million).
