In less than a week, former champions Tim Sylvia and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will face each other in the main event of UFC 81, competing for the interim heavyweight title. And the current title holder predicts victory for the UFC veteran.
Couture sees Nogueira’s chances on the ground; and he sees Sylvia's success if the fight goes to the feet. But, for a proper prediction, Couture considers that Nogueira's most recent performance will be the decisive factor.
“I think it will be a good fight,” Couture said. “I'm a fan of the sport, first and foremost, and I consider this dispute interesting. Nogueira's strengths tend to be his ground game and submissions, but Tim is taller, stronger, difficult to take down and has great striking skills. It will be a classic fight and worth the interim title, so there will be a lot at stake for both.”
“I see better chances for Tim, considering Nogueira's performance against Heath Herring, in his last fight in the UFC. I see Sylvia winning by interruption or something like that.“
