It was not only Conor McGregor who had reason to celebrate after UFC 202, held last Saturday (20), in Las Vegas. The Nevada State Athletic Commission released the scholarships received by the athletes who fought in the event, and McGregor, who pocketed US$3 million (R$9,6 million at current exchange rates), and Nate diaz, US$2 million (R$6,4 million), led the list with the highest salaries of the night, followed by light heavyweight Anthony Johnson, who profited US$ 270 thousand (almost R$ 869 thousand) with the lightning knockout over Glover Teixeira.

The curious fact is that Johnson, who knocked out the Brazilian Glover Teixeira in 13 seconds, which results in US$20,7 (R$66,5) received per second of fight. The North American received the third highest salary of the night, followed by Donald Cerrone, US$ 170 thousand (R$ 546,8 thousand), and Lorenz Larkin, US$ 78 thousand (R$ 250,8 thousand). Glover Teixeira, despite the defeat, they also have nothing to complain about when it comes to money. The miner won the sum of US$65 thousand (about R$209 thousand). On the other hand, Brazilian Alberto Uda, alongside newcomers Chris Avila and Max griffin, was the smallest purse of the night, US$10 (just over R$32).
It is worth remembering that the event recorded the largest declared purse ever paid in the entire history of the UFC, with McGregor earning no less than US$3 million (R$9,6 million at current prices). This beats the old record set by Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 last month, when he took home a reported $2,5 million payout.
Salaries are only the values declared by the UFC, without including portions of pay-per-view sales, sponsorships or other bonuses eventually paid by the organization.
