Woodley asks GSP or Diaz for his first title defense

New champion says he 'wants to make money' and even accepts a duel at UFC 202, which takes place on August 20th

Shortly after knocking out Robbie Lawler and win the UFC welterweight belt, Tyron woodley He's already thinking about his first title defense. The new champion chose two opponents of his choice and even expressed his willingness to return to the octagon in less than a month.

In the press conference after the fight, Woodley expressed his desire regarding his first title defense. “I want to make a little money, to be honest. I would love to face Nick Diaz at UFC 202”, he said, referring to the event that takes place on August 20, in Las Vegas (USA). Nick's younger brother, Nate diaz, will make the main fight of the night against Conor McGregor.

“I would like to face Nick Diaz ou Georges St Pierre to follow. Nick Diaz is, in my opinion, top 3 welterweight of all time. GSP is the best welterweight of all time”, explained the fighter.

When commenting on the possibility of Stephen Thompson to be next in line, Woodley needled his likely rival: “He said he wanted to face Robbie Lawler and that this would be better for the fans. So he can face Lawler now, with no belt on the line,” he said.
