It's no exaggeration to consider the last week as the most hectic and turbulent period in recent MMA history. In addition to three electrifying events in three consecutive days, which crowned new champions, International Fight Week also saw a surprising sequence of events that culminated in the fall of Jon Jones and the return of Anderson Silva.

First, UFC Fight Night 90 had Eddie Alvarez taking down Rafael dos Anjos to win the lightweight belt. The knockout suffered by the Brazilian in the first round left the country temporarily without belts in the largest MMA organization on the planet.

The next day, Claudia Gadelha bothered Joanna Jedrzejczyk, but was unable to displace the Polish woman as champion of the strawweight division. At UFC 200, however, everything changed: José Aldo hit Frankie Edgar to win the interim featherweight belt, and Amanda nunes ran over Miesha Tate to become the new holder of the women's bantamweight title.

However, the most surprising chapter of the week involved two of the greatest fighters in MMA history. Jon Jones, which would face Daniel Cormier in the main fight of UFC 200, he left the fight after being caught in an anti-doping test. His replacement was none other than Anderson Silva, who ended up defeated in the judges' decision.
