The biopic of José Aldo It was barely released and those responsible for the film are already thinking about a possible sequel. During the official launch of “Mais Forte que o Mundo”, director Afonso Poyart revealed that he is already thinking about a sequel and that the theme would be the Brazilian saga against Conor McGregor, from the defeat at the end of last year to a possible rematch against the Irish.

“It's a biography of a young guy, who has a lot of history ahead of him. I think so (a sequel can be considered), I think there could be many films there. Suddenly a fight against McGregor would be the second film, for sure. She alone makes a film. This whole conflict between him and McGregor makes for a spin-off, at the very least. So who knows, maybe we'll do something. After the rematch takes place, McGregor would be a good arch-rival for Aldo”, declared Poyart, in a chat with the press, reproduced on the “Combate” channel website.

Aldo himself also commented on the possibility and said he will fight in the Octagon to give “Stronger Than the World 2” a happy ending. “I think that by taking back the belt, this story would be a great show, it would be a good match for us to beat him and get the belt back. My focus is the belt, I think that's what I'm focused on right now. And as soon as I regain the belt, beating the Frankie Edgar, then yes I will think about some things because we have some scores to settle, yes. We are talking because we have a very big story ahead of us. Just like the Rocky movie, of which there are several. If that happens for me, my brother, then the sky is the limit, because we will achieve all our goals in life”, he guaranteed.

“Stronger than the World” hits cinemas across Brazil on June 16th. The next challenge of José Aldo in the octagon is scheduled for July 9, at the “T-Mobile Arena”, in Las Vegas (USA). On that date, the Brazilian will face Frankie Edgar for the interim featherweight belt.
