The weather is hot among the middleweights Wanderlei Silva e Chael Sonnen. During the week, the fighters exchanged barbs and heavy provocations, which reinforces the possibility of a confrontation between the athletes in 2011.
On Tuesday, in an interview with the English magazine Fighters Only Magazine, the Brazilian stated that he had already beaten the North American during training at the training academy. Randy Couture, and would like to face Chael on his return to the octagon.
“Sonnen’s base is just wrestling. I already trained with him at Xtreme Couture and almost 'killed' him. I think he’s a good opponent for me,” said Wand.
Without wasting time, the North American used Twitter to respond to the Brazilian athlete. Sonnen, who is serving a doping suspension at UFC-117 when he was submitted by Anderson Silva, defended himself by attacking and spiced up the atmosphere between the two.
“Who did you kill? You looked like Tammy Faye Baker (American singer who had several facelifts). I took it easy on you so your new face wouldn’t fall off”, said the American, who continued.
“You're lucky your brother Joe (Silva) is the UFC matchmaker, otherwise you'd be selling monkey barbecue on the streets of Manaus,” he concluded.
The first disagreement between Wand and Sonnen happened during the UFC Fight Night 22 promotion, in September, when the Brazilian questioned the level of Chael's provocations before his fight against Anderson Silva, where the North American questioned the technical quality of the brothers Rodrigo Minotauro and Rogério Minotouro, who awarded Anderson his jiu-jitsu black belt.
