Moments worthy of a horror film took place at an MMA gym in Hamburg, Germany, last Wednesday night (18). At least five masked men invaded the place and carried out a brutal attack on professional fighter Abeku Afful.

According to a witness reported to the website “GNP1.de”, the attackers were armed with machetes, pocket knives and bats. Afful had serious injuries to his left leg, damaging an artery and a tendon, and, due to intense blood loss, he was rushed to the hospital. Check out an image of the injuries (STRONG SCENE).
According to the “Bloody Elbow” website, the athlete, who would fight this Saturday, underwent several surgeries and is not at risk of death. However, he remains hospitalized in the ICU and may undergo even more surgical interventions.
Local police are still investigating the reasons for the attack. Witnesses to the incident also stated that the attackers invaded the gym and specifically looked for Afful, and the attack could be related to an old change of teams, which created animosity with his former training partners.
At 35 years old, Afful has a professional record of four wins and three losses.
