Weidman suffers injury and leaves fight against Rockhold at UFC 199

Former champion was injured in the final stretch of his preparation and UFC is looking for a replacement; Michael Bisping offers to fight

The main fight of UFC 199 suffered a major loss. Chris Weidman, which would face Luke Rockhold for the organization's middleweight belt, he suffered an injury and was forced to leave the fight.

The details of the injury, including its severity, have not yet been released. The UFC, however, is looking for a replacement to face Rockhold in his first title defense, and one of them has already offered himself publicly: Michael Bisping.

Coming from victory over Anderson SilvaIn February, the Englishman wrote on Twitter: “Training periods are what separate men from boys. This sport is not for everyone. Fight on two weeks' notice? I’m in,” wrote Bisping, who was already defeated by Rockhold, in November 2014.

Rockhold won the middleweight belt in December 2015, defeating Weidman by technical knockout. UFC 199 will have another title fight: Dominick Cruz face Urijah faber to defend the bantamweight title.
