Bellator, considered the second biggest MMA event in the world, was the target of an unusual process to say the least. Pornographic film actor James Deen has gone to court against the fight organization to defend himself against accusations he faces for providing precarious working conditions in his company.

Deen's erotic film production company was notified by the California Division of Health and Safety (USA) for allegedly violating labor laws with its employees, who were therefore vulnerable to sexually transmitted diseases.
Deen then “told” Bellator to justice in order to defend himself and point out the different criteria adopted by the North American entity. The lawsuit argues that the MMA organization also leaves its fighters vulnerable to contamination, since, according to him, there are no adequate blood tests to prevent the spread of diseases.
Furthermore, Deen argues that his production company requires all preventive exams and that actors voluntarily choose not to use condoms in scenes. “Workers in the sex industry should not be viewed under different criteria compared to other sectors that receive more media attention,” she argued.
Deen, whose given name is Bryan Matthew Sevilla, has been involved in several controversies in the past. He has been accused by ex-girlfriends and other pornographic stars of sexual violence and rape.
