Minotouro bets on boxing to beat Cummins in Curitiba

Rogério Minotouro already knows what the path will be to defeat Patrick Cummins at UFC 198, an event that will be held in Curitiba (PR), on May 14th. The Brazilian believes that, if he unleashes his boxing in the Octagon, he has everything he needs to come away with victory.

Cummins' main weapon is his wrestling, and Minotouro has already suffered in the past with opponents with these characteristics, such as Phil Davis e Ryan bader. This time, the veteran wants to show aggression without fear of being taken down by his rival.

“I think the way to win is to use boxing. I can't be too worried about falling to the ground, because sometimes you just wait for the fall, you train your defense a lot, and you don't attack. So it’s about letting the game go, not being afraid of losing and going after him, trying to knock him out and taking advantage of the opportunities he will give during the fight”, said Minotouro, in an interview with the “Portal do Vale Tudo” website.

With UFC 198 packed with stars, Minotouro and Cummins will perform on the attraction's preliminary card. The main fight of the night will be between Fabricio Werdum e Stipe Miocic, valid for the heavyweight belt. They will also fight in the night Anderson Silva, Vitor belfort, Ronaldo Jacare, Chris Cyborg, Mauritius Shogun e Demian Maia.
