Current UFC featherweight champion, Conor McGregor is known for his sharp tongue. However, one old statement in particular did not go down well, especially among Christians: that “he would beat Jesus” if this hypothetical fight took place. The Irishman, indicating that he regretted the statement, spoke out when he met the journalist who asked the question again.

In December last year, McGregor gave an interview to the website “TMZ” and heard the unusual question from the reporter, who wanted to know what he would be like against Christ. “Me against Jesus in the Octagon [laughs]? What would that be like? Well, I tell you one thing: there isn't a man alive who could beat me. But Jesus isn't alive, so who knows, he might come back from the dead. I don't know. But I would beat him up”, said the fighter at the time.

The statement had a bad impact, both among other fighters as even with an American pastor who "prayed for lightning” to strike the athlete.

Last Wednesday (24), shortly after from the press conference to promote UFC 196, McGregor came face to face again with the same “TMZ” reporter. Without even paying attention to the question, the fighter said: “Partner, shut the f*** up and get out of my way. Do you remember that question about Jesus you asked? It was a very stupid question. You’re an idiot,” he swore, turning his back and walking away.
