Anderson admits he was 'fed up' before suspension

Former champion says that a year off made him mature and denies that failing an anti-doping test affected his legacy

After not fighting for more than a year while serving a suspension, Anderson Silva He considers himself to be even more mature and admitted that, before that, he was “fed up” both professionally and personally.

The former UFC middleweight champion has not fought since January 2015. At the time, Anderson was found to be undergoing a drug test and was forced to take a 12-month layoff. Now, about to return to action at the age of 40, Anderson explained why he feels more motivated, including the desire to win the belt.

“I was a little fed up, unhappy with some personal and professional things, but that's life. That’s how she is and that’s how we mature”, declared Anderson, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”. “Now I’m an older, more experienced Anderson.”

The Brazilian, caught using anabolic and anxiolytic substances in his most recent fight, denied that the episode had affected his legacy. "No I do not think. This last year I didn't say much, I just trained a lot, developed my technique, and I'm happy”, he analyzed.

Anderson returns to the Ultimate Octagon this Saturday (27), in London, England. In the main fight of UFC Fight Night 84, the Brazilian faces the local athlete Michael Bisping.
