After controversy, McGregor says he is fine with Jesus: 'Gods recognize gods'

The Irishman had already generated discontent among Christians through jokes and brought up the topic again at the UFC 197 press conference

Recently, Conor McGregor He was involved in a huge controversy, mainly with Christians, for joking that he would beat Jesus Christ in a fight in the Octagon. The subject, of course, was remembered by Rafael dos Anjos at the UFC 197 press conference, held this Wednesday (21), and used to attack his opponent in the lightweight belt fight in March.

“When a guy says something like that, he has no respect for anyone. I'm just a tool in the hands of Jesus and he will see, he will feel what this tool can do”, said Rafael, disapproving the Irishman's attitude.

McGregor's response was immediate and, once again, in a mocking tone. “Man, I’m good with Jesus. I am right with all the gods. The gods recognize gods,” he shot, not missing the chance to poke.

Rafael dos Anjos e Conor McGregor face each other on February 5th, at UFC 197, in Las Vegas (USA). In addition to the duel valid for the lightweight belt, the event will also feature a fight between Holly holm e Miesha Tate for the women's bantamweight division title as the co-main event.
