Current UFC lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos he rarely engages in arguments or exchanges of public barbs with his opponents. This Wednesday (20), however, the Brazilian briefly escaped his characteristics during press conferences to promote UFC 197, an event that will be held on March 5th and in which he will defend his title against the loudmouth Conor McGregor.

Dos Anjos was constantly provoked by the Irishman, who, among other things, promised to “rip off the Brazilian’s head and parade it around Rio de Janeiro”. The lightweight champion responded by also promising aggression in the fight.
“I’m not one to talk a lot, I’m one to respect others. But I speak the truth. On March 5th, I will send you home, sad, and I will keep my title. I could end this fight in a minute, but I'm going to punish him until the third or fourth round. I want to make him bleed”, said Rafael.
According to the Brazilian, his biggest objective in the fight will be to dispatch McGregor and send him back to the featherweight division. “He won the featherweight title and now he wants to come here and steal my belt. But I'm sure I'll keep it. He doesn't want to defend the featherweight belt because, if he loses, he has nothing left. He’s smart”, he said.
After the press conference, the two athletes stared at each other, looking at each other seriously and with their faces close. The Irishman threatened to headbutt the Brazilian, who didn't move due to the false blow. Afterwards, both posed for photos, and McGregor stretched out his hand to shake the Brazilian, but it was not reciprocated.
Rafael dos Anjos e Conor McGregor will take part in the main fight of UFC 197, on March 5th, in Las Vegas (USA). The Irishman, owner of the 66 kg belt, will also try to win the 70 kg title and become the first to hold two belts simultaneously in Ultimate.
