Experienced in facing “loudmouths”, Anderson Silva gave a message to Conor McGregor, current UFC featherweight champion who will try to win the lightweight title next month. The Brazilian praised the Irishman's achievements, but recalled that the last one who provoked the country “didn't do very well”.

Anderson is obviously referring to his great rival from the time he was middleweight champion, Chael Sonnen. Before the two fights they had, the North American made life hell for the Brazilian, but ended up defeated in both.
McGregor also draws attention for his words, although his provocations are directed only at his potential opponents, and not at the country itself. Even so, Anderson believes that the Irishman could have problems if he continues to have his tongue loose.
“McGregor is a great fighter, a guy who is doing his job well. He's a very smart guy. I don't think Rafael can fall into his pile like José Aldo. I think both [Dos Anjos and Aldo] beat him. He's a great fighter, he has my respect, but I don't think he can talk too much nonsense about Brazilians and Brazil. The last one who said that didn't do very well, no,” he said, in a press conference reproduced by the North American website “MMA Fighting”.
On March 5, McGregor will move up to the lightweight category in an attempt to unseat the champion, Rafael dos Anjos. If he wins, the Irishman will become the first to hold two belts simultaneously in the UFC.
