Bellator President reveals interest in Wanderlei Silva

Recently, Wanderlei Silva has been released from his UFC contract and is free to sign with any organization. Now, the former PRIDE champion is in the sights of Bellator, Ultimate's main rival. According to president Scott Coker, Bellator is already keeping an eye on Wanderlei, monitoring the Brazilian's situation and contact between the parties should take place soon.

“Wanderlei is one of the most legendary fighters in this sport and still has a lot to offer. He's someone we're potentially interested in. But he's out of the country and we haven't spoken yet. But we're going to do it. It could happen that he fights in Japan, it could happen that he fights here (in the USA), we won't know until we see what he's thinking, and, of course, we have to see how the situation goes”, said Coker, in an interview to the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

At 39, Wanderlei Silva He has a professional record of 35 wins, 12 losses, one draw and one unsuccessful fight. The “Crazy Dog” is currently banned from MMA in the state of Nevada by the local Athletic Commission, which is the main regulatory body for the sport and directs the decisions of several other entities.
