Now, after his athlete struggled for 23 minutes and submitted the American in the last round, the Brazilian fighter's manager is full of praise for the Brazilian athlete, but doesn't think a rematch is legitimate.
“(Anderson) showed what a champion is made of. He fought against all odds, stayed focused and never gave up, he had the heart of a champion,” said Ed, in an interview with the American website Hype Fight. The businessman also highlighted that a rematch would not be fair, as Chael was submitted by Anderson.
“I don’t think an immediate rematch is legitimate. He wanted to win the decision, but he was submitted, man”, he said.
“Anderson has some issues and injuries, but let's be real, you're on top of a guy for 23 minutes and you can't finish the fight? Why should he have a rematch?”, he asked.
