Without acting professionally since 2013, the former PRIDE champion Wanderlei Silva He has been a very active figure on social media, especially when it comes to politics. A fierce critic of the federal government, Wand recently shared alleged news that the son of former president Lula had been caught filling up a boat valued at R$20 million with the equivalent of R$84 in fuel and asked questions about the origin of such money. The publication caught the attention of Lula and his team, who responded to the accusations and promised to prosecute the fighter.

“A lot of people call MMA MMA. But if not everything goes in the octagon, it can't be like that on social media either. Lying, for example: it’s not worth it! Therefore, we regret that the fighter Wanderlei Silva, who is an example for so many Brazilians, don't worry about using your Facebook channel to share slander against Lula and his family. But since he doesn't verify the veracity of what he publishes on his page, let's repeat: Lula's children don't have yachts, farms or planes; They do not own Friboi or other large corporations, among other nonsense repeated to exhaustion by those who have no commitment to the truth. The publication has already been sent to the lawyers of the former president's family, who will evaluate any applicable legal measures”, says the statement, published on Lula's official page on Facebook.

After the episode, Wanderlei Silva did not speak publicly on the matter. At 39 years old, the “Crazy Dog”, as he is known, has a professional record of 35 wins, 12 losses, one draw and one unsuccessful fight. Wand is still serving a suspension imposed by the Nevada Athletic Commission (NSAC), which banned him from MMA in the state after the Brazilian evaded an anti-doping test before the fight against Chael Sonnen. Recently, however, the former PRIDE champion received good news and was released from his contract with the UFC, being free to sign with another organization and perform, as long as it is outside of Las Vegas or other regions that follow NSAC regulations.

Check out Wand's post that started the controversy below:

Wand LulaI don't even want to criticize. I just want to know where so much money came from, because before your father became president they weren't that rich. I don't know how much the president of Brazil earns, but I don't think he could buy a boat worth 20 million in 8 years in office!

Let's do a quick calculation: 8 years are 96 months, 20 million divided by 96 is R$208.333 per month. We're just talking about a boat, not to mention planes, farms and everything else. Where did all this come from? And I ask: what is all this for? Where does all this go? Money doesn't bring happiness, it brings comfort. Laying your head on the pillow and not having any weight on your conscience is priceless!

I would just like justice to be done, because all of this in a country where there are so many children living on the streets, eating garbage, is revolting to say the least! They may even escape the justice of men, but no one escapes God's! You know the truth.
