Considered one of the greatest fighters of all time, Fedor Emelianenko returned to MMA with a peaceful victory this Thursday (31). At Rizin 2, an event held in Saitama, Japan, the Russian had no great difficulty dispatching Jaideep Singh via technical knockout in the first round.

At 39 years old and retired for more than three years, the “Last Emperor”, as he is known, took little time to clinch and take down kickboxer Singh. Once on the ground, Emelianenko just needed to find the right position to start striking, which earned him a technical knockout in just over three minutes.

Thus, Fedor achieves his 35th victory in professional MMA, against only four defeats. In the last decade, the Russian commanded the heavyweight division with the title of the now extinct PRIDE event, even defeating names like Rodrigo Minotauro, Mirko Cro Cop and Mark Coleman.

Rickson's son, Kron Gracie finishes

The Japanese event also marked the victory of kron gracie by submission against Asen Yamamoto. Son of the legendary Rickson Gracie, Kron even managed a stand-up exchange, including landing good blows on the Japanese. Led by Nobuyuki Sakakibara, Rizin is an attempt to revive Japanese MMA, which was very strong until the last decade. Sakakibara was president of PRIDE, an organization that was the biggest MMA competition between 1997 and 2007, even bigger than the UFC. It was at PRIDE that names like Rodrigo Minotauro, Wanderlei Silva, Mauritius Shogun, Dan Henderson, Among others.
