Aoki massacres Sakuraba on the first day of Rizin

Brazilians from the attraction do not come out with the victory and King Mo advances to the final of the Heavyweight GP after winning his fight by knockout

This Tuesday (29), in Saitama, Japan, the first day of Rizin competitions was held, an event that has been called “New PRIDE”. In the duel of generations that headlined the attraction, Shinya Aoki carried out a true massacre on veteran Kazushi Sakuraba, winning the fight by technical knockout.

The entire fight was dominated by Aoki. Fourteen years younger than his opponent, the fighter took Sakuraba down, went to mount and began an intense sequence of strikes from above. “O Caçador de Gracies” turned his back to try to survive, but ended up making life even easier for Aoki, who won by technical knockout with less than six minutes of activity.

First round of the GP

The Japanese night also featured the first round of the Heavyweight GP, which will be concluded on the 31st. Bellator athlete, King mo he advanced to the final after beating Brett McDermott by knockout in the final minute of the first round. Jiri Prochazka also knocked out the Japanese judoka Satoshi Ishii, being that Vadim nemkov defeated former UFC athlete Goran Reljic by technical knockout. Finally, one of the Brazilians of the night, the athlete from Jungle Fight Bruno Cappelozza, succumbed by knockout against Teodoras Aukstuolis

Among the other Brazilians in the attraction, Carlos Toyota, ended up defeated by Kirill Sidelnikov, pupil of Fedor Emelianenko; Felipe Efrain knocked out Yuki Motoya, but the fight ended without result due to the Brazilian not having made weight for his category. In another summer duel, Tsuyoshi Kohsaka beat James Thompson in the second round.

The second day 

Rizin's second day of competitions will be on Thursday, December 31st, with the return of Fedor Emelianenko to MMA as a big highlight – his opponent will be the Japanese-based Indian Jaideep Singh. The event will also feature the semi-finals and final of the Heavyweight GP (King mo x Teodoras Aukstuolis and Jiri Prochazka x Vadim nemkov), plus the participation of Brazilians Maike Linhares Galvão, Gabi Garcia and kron gracie, who face, respectively, Soo Chul Kim, Seini Draughn and Asen Yamamoto.
